Life described through poetry

On World Poetry Day we spoke with Kai Falkman, former Swedish Ambassador and President of the Swedish Haiku Society, about Dag Hammarskjöld’s celebrated poetry.

Dag Hammarskjöld’s most revered legacy may well be his journal of personal and spiritual reflections which was published posthumously as Markings in 1963. The texts are poetic in nature, many of them in Haiku verse, and reflect an intense and deeply personal dialogue with God about duty, responsibility, guilt, love and faith.

In this video blog Kai Falkman tell us what makes Dag Hammarskjöld’s poetry so special.
