The way we define and interpret development is closely linked to what we measure and how we measure it. This seminar explores how to best report on progress regarding sustainable development initiatives, especially looking ahead at the High Level Political Forum and the post-2015 framework.

Sakiko Fukuda-Parr was lead author and director of the UNDP Human Development Reports from 1995 to 2004. A development economist by training and currently Professor of International Affairs at the New School, Fukuda-Parr is currently involved in “The Power of Numbers”, a major research project on the MDGs.

Danny Sriskandarajah has been Secretary General and CEO of CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation since January 2013. He is the author of numerous reports and academic articles on international migration and economic development, and currently works on “The Big Development DataShift”, an ambitious, multi-stakeholder initiative to leverage the potential of new technologies for more creative and effective social accountability.
