Human Rights & Inclusivity
Our work in this area contributes to dialogue and action to recognise and address exclusion and support the engagement of civil society in consultations and decision-making.
About
Strong multilateral action is urgently needed for the protection and promotion of human rights and the safeguarding of civic space. As outlined in the Secretary General’s ‘Our Common Agenda,’ there is a need to promote understanding within a society of how people solve shared problems, manage risks and pool resources to deliver public goods, as well as how their collective institutions and norms operate.
Supporting the UN’s role in holding states accountable for upholding agreed international human rights obligations, including the recent recognition of access to a safe, clean, healthy and sustainable environment as a fundamental human right, is essential for realising the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and for advancing the Sustaining Peace agenda.
This project contributes to dialogue and action to recognise and address exclusion and support the engagement of civil society in consultations and decision-making.
