Astrid Thors is a lawyer and a Finnish politician and the former Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) High Commissioner on National Minorites (2013-2016). She is currently a member of the Nordic Women Mediator Network and was the Finnish Minister of Migration and European Affairs between 2007 and 2011. She has served both in the European Parliament (1996-2004) and in the Finnish Parliament (2004-2013). She has held several positions related to Human Rights and minority rights, chairing the Advisory Board on Human Rights of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and the Refugee Advisory Council. She has also chaired the Swedish Assembly of Finland and the National Committee for Unicef in Finland.
