Thiyumi Senarathna works at the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) and is a contributing author to our recent Development Dialogue, as well co-editor of International IDEA’s publication Women in Conflict and Peace. At International IDEA, she has worked in the areas of democracy, conflict, security and diversity, and she has several years of experience with peacebuilding, conflict resolution, democracy-building, gender, and security sector reform in Zimbabwe and elsewhere. With a major in Peace and Conflict Studies, she holds Masters degrees in International Relations and Political Science, and in Social Science, both from Uppsala University.
