Per Knutsson is Director UN Reform and Deputy Director at the Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation. Per previously served as the Head of the United Nations Resident Coordinators Office in Kenya between 2014 and 2019. Per has an extensive civil service career in Swedish international development and has held senior management positions in policy, programmes and coordination - at bilateral, regional and multilateral levels. Per has had embassy postings for Sweden in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and South Africa. At the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), Per has led Policy Departments, including divisions for Democratic Governance/Human Rights; Human Development; Environment; and Private Sector. He has also served as Head of Division for Gender Equality; HIV/AIDS; and Culture and Media. Per holds a Master’s in Global Management from Salford Business School/University of Salford, UK, and studied Social Anthropology; History of Economics; and History of Ideas at Stockholm University.
