About the event
The session aims to highlight the persistent barriers to financing youth-led peacebuilding efforts and to foster dialogue between young peacebuilders, donors, private sector actors and policymakers. By providing a collaborative space for intergenerational and cross-sectoral exchange, the event seeks to promote flexible, sustainable and youth-adapted financing frameworks that can catalyse long-term peace and development.
Speakers will include representatives from the United Nations Youth Office, the UN Peacebuilding Support Office, and youth peacebuilders themselves, with discussions grounded in practical experiences and innovative funding models. Participants will explore how equitable financial partnerships can unlock the potential of young people as co-creators of peace and agents of transformative change.
Breakout sessions will explore strategies for overcoming bureaucratic barriers, building accountability frameworks, and scaling up effective funding models. The conversation will also contribute to wider institutional processes, such as the Peacebuilding Architecture Review and the Second Progress Study on Youth, Peace and Security.
Ultimately, the side event underscores the urgent need to embed youth priorities within the global financing architecture, not as an afterthought, but as a cornerstone of a more just, inclusive and peaceful future.

The side event is open to everyone. Especially young peacebuilders, policymakers, civil society actors, UN agency representatives, private sector partners, and researchers working at the intersection of peace, development, and youth engagement are encouraged to register and join.
