The ‘global food crisis’: Possible ramifications for peacebuilding initiatives is the theme of a virtual seminar to be hosted by International Training on Dialogue and Mediation (ITDM) Alumni Network with the support of the Department of Peace and Conflict Research (DPCR) at Uppsala University and the Foundation.

Ida Rudolfsen from the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) will deliver the seminar keynote ‘The Russia invasion of Ukraine: Implications for food insecurity and social unrest’ to anchor the discussions. The session will be moderated by the Armend Bekaj (Foundation) and co-hosted by Helena Grusell (DPCR). Alumna Ana Prada (Colombia) will then facilitate a case study component as well as present her country’s experiences. She shares the platform with Selma Malik (Pakistan) and Indika Perera (Sri Lanka).

Sigrid Gruener (Foundation) and Kathleen Klaus (DPCR) will be facilitating the final component with a general discussion and closing remarks.

When: Monday, 26 September 2022, 14:00 – 16:00 CEST.
