Analyzing the 2015 UN Reviews related to peace and security: A Writer’s workshop

The Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation organised a writer’s workshop for a select group of academics, practitioners and policy analysts who have been closely following and contributing to the UN Peacebuilding, Peace Operations and Security Council Resolution 1325 Reviews, to discuss the conclusions, recommendations and options presented in the reports from the three processes.

The challenge of sustaining peace: The 2015 review of the UN peacebuilding architecture

Together with the International Peace Institute (IPI), the Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation co-hosted a policy forum offering, for the first time since its release, an event to discuss the Advisory Group of Experts’ report on the 2015 Review of the UN Peacebuilding Architecture, which has recently been submitted to the presidents of the UN General Assembly and the UN Security Council.

Local Perspectives on Inclusive Peacebuilding: a Four-country Case Study

This Development Dialogue paper summarises local perspectives on inclusivity in peacebuilding, gathered from consultations in Somalia, Timor-Leste, Liberia and Burma/Myanmar. It elaborates on a number of themes that recurred in several of the country contexts and ends by highlighting suggestions on how international peacebuilding actors can improve the chances of supporting inclusive and sustainable peacebuilding efforts.

Civil Society input to peacebuilding and UN Peace Operations

During March 11-13 the DHF co-hosted a series of events in New York that facilitated civil society representatives from Africa, Asia and Latin America to provide input to the UN Peace Operations Review and the UN Peacebuilding Architecture Review. These events were organised by members of the NGO Peacebuilding Group in New York together with the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI).
